Russian Towers LLC was founded in 2009 and is a telecom towers operator focused primarily on construction and lease of space on its own and managed sites in Russian Federation and CIS countries. We address and provide the opportunity for wireless operators to unlock essential funds usually spent on network infrastructure to develop their VAS, to make the advertising companies more intensive, to improve quality of their services, to scope new territories and other matters which the competition between operators constantly demands.
The rapid development of wireless networks is accompanied by the constant growth of subscriber base and the broad appearance of content-oriented services for mobile subscribers. Further growth in demand for multimedia services, fixed and mobile wireless broadband access services stimulates significant changes in requirements for both BTS capacity and technology used to improve it within the same GSM/CDMA/Wi-Fi/WiMAX frequency bands. Consequently, new BTS constructions take place at locations with the wireless network’s capacity lower than needed or where is no wireless access yet (some lesser roads, distant towns and villages, etc). However, despite rather small traffic in such rural areas with low density of subscribers, communication presence in such places strongly influences an estimation of quality of services by subscribers.
While telecom operators in Russia/CIS very rare share their tower’s space with competitors we believe an independent cell tower infrastructure operator may create a mutual benefit from sharing tower space between several mobile and broadband wireless access operators. |
